Senior Retreat Leadership Team
Rising Seniors apply to be part of a dynamic team of Senior Leaders who work with the LSLO to lead the Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior Retreats. These students are faith-based teens who desire to grow in the Lasallian Core Principles and promote a healthy and wholistic community at Christian Brothers High School. Rising seniors must make a Junior Retreat to be eligible to apply for SRLT.
Freshman Retreat
The first-year retreat, themed “Live Jesus in Our Hearts Forever,” is especially meaningful for all students. This common prayer, recited daily at CB and echoed across the Lasallian world, serves as a powerful reminder of our shared values and faith.
All incoming Freshmen participate in the one-day retreat held at Sacramento Newman Center, 5900 Newman Court in Sacramento. Half of the freshman class attends on Monday, September 16, and the other half attends on Tuesday, September 17. The students attend the one-day retreat according to Advisory Class. Dr. Jaldon will send an email with a permission slip, and essential information will be emailed to parents after the Labor Day Holiday.
Under the guidance of our fantastic students on the Senior Leadership Retreat Team, first-year students will delve into the theme of belonging. This retreat is designed to immerse the students in the Lasallian Core Principles and foster a sense of community through engaging activities and icebreakers. All students belong and are welcome into the CB faith experience regardless of their profession of faith, seekers of truth, or no official religious associations.
Each student is dropped off at Sacramento Newman Center by their parent or designated adult by 8:40 a.m. Each student must bring a brown lunch bag and wear their Spirit shirt given at Freshmen Lock-In with Dress Code bottoms. If a Spirit shirt is needed, please visit the Lasallian Student Life Office in Room 106 a few days before the retreat. Students are expected to fully participate in the entire retreat, which will conclude at 2 p.m. Parents and adults are asked to pick up their student at the Sacramento Newman Center at the conclusion of the retreat.
Sophomore Retreat
The second-year retreat, “Anchored,” is for all CB sophomores. The theme builds on the previous year.
All Sophomores participate in the one-day retreat at Sacramento Newman Center, 5900 Newman Court in Sacramento. Half of the sophomore class attends on Monday, September 23, and the other half attends on Tuesday, September 24. The students attend the one-day retreat according to their Advisory Class. Dr. Jaldon will send an email with a permission slip, and essential information will be emailed to parents after the Labor Day Holiday.

Junior Retreat
The Junior Retreat is the first overnight retreat experience hosted by the Lasallian Student Life Office (LSLO) and led by our Senior Retreat Leadership Team (SRLT). This retreat emphasizes the student’s personal vocation in life and their gifts. This retreat is a reflection on their life journey thus far as a student at Christian Brothers High School. There are four retreats scheduled in your Junior year!
Your parent/guardian can register and pay via the links below to secure your spot. Spots will fill quickly! One of the retreats will be a full 10-hour (one-day) retreat at the Sacramento Newman Center. We offer a one-day model to accommodate and welcome more student participation. For a Junior to be eligible as an applicant for the Senior Retreat Leadership Team in their final year at CB, they must fully participate in a Junior Retreat.

Kairos
The pinnacle of our four-year retreat program is the Kairos retreat held for seniors. Kairos is a Greek word (καιρός), which translates best to “God’s time.” It differs from time measured by the chronology of events. This time with God invites seniors to examine, develop, and deepen their relationships with God, themselves, and others. Four retreats are available to seniors throughout the year, and a summer retreat is offered to rising seniors. Kairos will take place at Zephyr Conference Center in Lake Tahoe, Alliance Redwoods for a “renewal in the redwoods” in Occidental, California, and Applegate Jesuit Retreat Center in Applegate, California. These locations provide the space for encountering God in creation.
Kairos 100 will take place from May 27 to May 30, 2025. Register and pay here to secure your spot today! Those who apply and are accepted to the Senior Retreat Leadership Team for the Class of 2026 will receive priority for spots in this Summer’s Kairos.
