Dear Families:
In one of his many meditations, St. John Baptist de La Salle wrote “Make yourself responsive to whatever God asks of you.” Sometimes the ask is easy. Nearly five years ago, it brought me here to Sacramento. It has been my honor to work in service to our wonderful students, families, graduates, neighbors and friends. The warm welcome I received was just a portent of the many blessings that would come into my life as a member of this Christian Brothers High School community.
Sometimes the ask is difficult. Last night, I shared with the Board of Trustees that I will be stepping away from my position as President of Christian Brothers High School at the end of this school year.
Please know this is not a decision that I entered into lightly. However, I know that the important work we have accomplished will help position Christian Brothers High School for success well into the next 150 years. We are blessed with strong and stable enrollment, a vibrant campus faith life, generous philanthropic support, outstanding educational and co-curricular programs, a successful athletics program, and phenomenal educators and school leaders. Christian Brothers High School is strong.
The Board of Trustees, in collaboration with the District of San Francisco New Orleans, will soon begin a comprehensive search for my replacement. I join you all in praying that the ideal candidate makes himself or herself responsive to God’s holy ask.
It has truly been the professional honor of my career to serve this community and our greater Lasallian Catholic mission. I look forward to finishing the year strong and thank you all for your kindness and well wishes as I move along to this next chapter in my journey. I will forever hold Christian Brothers High School and the friends I have made here in my heart.
Together and by association,
Crystal LeRoy, Ed.D.
President
